Steering wheel shake problem???????
I have a quick question because I could not find solution by searching.
I recently put some aftermarket rims on my car.
They are 17x7 inch enkei rims with 235/45-17 Dunlop snow/winter tires.
I have noticed since I put these rims/tires on that my steering wheel only shakes/stumbles at speeds greater than 65mph. Its smooth untill 65mph.
These are the things I have came up with so if anyone has any Ideas please respond.
I have had tires balanced twice and it hasnt fixed the problem.
Could the rims offset of 35 cause this shake problem?
Can Dunlop snow tires cause shaking after 65mph?

Welcome to Club Lexus. If you have had your wheels balanced twice you might want to go back and have them road force balanced to see whether the the source of the vibration is coming from the wheel or the tire. Make sure you keep those rotated every 5 to 6000 miles and aired up to the proper amount of PSI. Also have them inspect your tires for out of round or any visible imperfections.

Do the wheels have hub-centric rings installed?
And were the wheels & tires "road force" balanced?
Without them, you'll probably never run smoothly.
Also, winter/snow tires are not noted for being smooth...
Are the tires new? If not, they could be flat-spotted.
What kind of car are you working on?

I got the 17x7 inch Enkei rims off my buddies AWD Mitsubishi Lancer evolution. The Evo came stock with 6 spoke enkei rims.
The Hub on my 92 Sc400 is 60.10mm
The Hub on Mitsubisi Evo's are 67.100mm
Does anyone make Hub-Centric rings that will fit my Hub(60.10mm) and fit in my rim holes which are (67.100)????????
all i see on ebay are ones that are 60.10mm/73.1mm.
