HELP NEEDED, wheel lugnut problem
I was trying to change my summer rims to my winter rims this weekend and I came across a bit of a problem on my SC300.
On the left rear wheel, I was able to get 4/5 lugnuts off but I cannot get the fifth one at all. My lug wrench just turns and turns, the lugnut never moves anywhere. I'm guessing that either it's stripped compltely or the threads on the lug are broken, keeping the lugnut stuck in place. Either way, I need to get this lugnut off so I can change my wheels. How can I do this? Is there anyway for me to hammer the entire stud out from the hub, with the lugnut attached? How do I hammer that thing out? NEED HELP!!! I don't really have a tire shop I can take it too, none of them want to touch my car because it is lowered and I have tuner wheels, so they say they don't want to try anything (since they don't have thin-wall lug sockets)..Any help on getting this wheel off will be much appreciated..

sounds like the stud is spinning in place... usually an air chisel is required to literally break the lug and stud... sometimes you can pull on the wheel enough to keep the stud from spinning, usually an impact wrench is required to do this though...
good luck, no easy way out from where you are...

I thought I had a broken stud too, and to make matters worse, it was the McGard Lock nut that was spinning around. I took it to every wheel shop I could find, and no one would touch it. In an act of desperation, I went to my dealership, and they were able to get it off in about 2 minutes by using their impact wrench. To top it all off, they did it for free! Turns out the lug nut was broken, not the stud... Needless to say, I don't use any McGard lock nuts on my car anymore. I hope you are able to get this thing off one way or another, I know how you feel right now...
