Angry Help: Wheel nut just fell off... :(

Arrrrrgh...

What's all these little problems with my SC4?

I found out that one of my wheel nuts on my SC4 just fell off today from my right front wheel. It's one of those gold plated wheel nuts.

Can I still drive around safely with only 4 nuts on the wheel? The local tire shop told me that I would have to go to a dealership to get these nuts and the nearest Lexus dealer from me is like 20 miles away. What should I do? :*(

Thank you!

Sorry for my ignorance. By 4-way, you mean...?

Is there anywhere else that I can get these nuts from besides Lexus?

I wonder if someone stole my nut on purpose. Arrrrgh... things like this shouldn't have fallen in the first place..

Thanks.

Am I able to drive around like this though?

I don't want my wheel to fall off on me while I drive around....

he means 4 way lug wrench. Yes you can drive around. I have been driving around with four on my rear wheel for a couple of weeks cuz one of my studs broke.

no problem, just make sure you keep an eye on it and make sure the rest are not loosening up.

Well, When i went to get a lug for my car noone had one deep enough. the stock lug is almost 3 inches (2 and change) and i HAD to go to lexus to get it. plus yours are gold, don't think you'll find one elsewhere thats that deep AND gold. but look around if ya want. good luck.

Tight & Spec are two different things.

You are ok to drive for a short while but they need to be tightened to 'spec'.

There is a such thing as over tight.....which may have been the cause of your problem in the first place. Can lead to snapped lugs and ruined wheels.

Its not rocket science but theres a bit more then getting them 'as tight as you can'.

Em's right, you don't wanna have a lug snap.

Thank you guys!

I just came back from Kragen.

It turned out that as onelasttry pointed out, they did not carry the long version lug from Lexus so i had to settle for the short one. It looks a bit out of place but it's the best I could do for now. It ain't bad for $1.99 though.

At least I no longer have to travel to the dealership 20 miles away and pay them $10 for a lousy lug.
