Perilli P Zero Nero M+S vs. Kumho Ecsta ASX
I need some quick advice from you guys, my tires are bald and snow could start falling any day now so I need to order some tires for my 99 GS400 within the next few days. I'm staying with the stock rims, and I was thinking of going up 1 size in width to 245/45/17 instead of the stock 235/45/17. I'm looking for all season tires that are good in snow becuase I don't have the space or desire to buy dedicated summer and winter tires
I did a search and read a little bit about both these tires. It seems like they're both pretty good, but the Kumhos will end up costing about $220 less than the Pirellis. I'm wondering if the Perillis are worth the extra expense.
This is going to be my first winter with the GS, and I've heard they're pretty bad in the snow. I'm Canadian so I grew up driving through snow, but I was driving a 4 cylinder Camry, not a 300hp RWD beast. Hopefully either of these tires will be able to get me through the winter without too much drama. Any feedback would be appreciated, I'm looking to place an order as soon as possible. Thanks in advance

I have these same exact tires on my GS and this will be my first winter too. Even though Kumho touts it as an all-season tire, I wouldn't try it already hearing that the GS is somewhat poor in the snow. I'm removing my tires and rims later this month and putting back the stock wheels and considering buying Blizzaks made by Bridgestone. But even before I do that, I'm going to test my GS in the snow with the stock wheels and tires first and consider the Blizzaks if needed.

I recently purchased a new set of tires which were Kumho SPT's. I originally thought about the ASX's for the longer tread life, but opted for the SPT's. After a few weeks of riding on the SPT's i didn't like all the road noise. They were too loud so i took them back and almost went with ASX's. The customer service rep. told me about the General Exclaim UHP tire and did a little research on it before i bought it. I gotta say i'm impressed with the tires. They stick well and have good tread life and a gorgeous looking tread pattern. They also say they are good for all-weather traction so that may be something you may want to consider....not to mention they cost less. I went with a 245/45/17 and couldn't be happier. Check out the link to a comparison page on the different tires which include the Kumho's and other brands: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/sea...45&ar=45&rd=17
or at tires.com.
