If your looking to fit stock fender I think +38 front and +35 rear is a nice look, should fit fine in the front, but might have to put a slight roll on the front fender for +38 though...
but with about 2.3 degrees of camber, the right tire size to fit the fender (not necessarily the proper size for the rim) and a decent drop, you can fit 10J -4 (offset) witha 235/40-18 will fit with a tremendous amount of pounding and no rubbing (tire choice is very important bridgestone tires are hard to fit). It all comes down to; Do you want deep dish or fit inside stock fender with little to no rolling. Never finished my fronts yet so I don't know how extreme you can go on stock fenders up front, but I've decided to use 25mm FRP overfenders to fit the front. Still trying to see what will fit with minimal rubbing at full lock.
What wheel are you thinking about getting?

Here's my car with 18x8, 38mm front and 18x9 38mm rear. Does it look sunken? With a .5" wider wheel then the above offsets will sit pretty well IMO. Oh, and no rubbing or fender rolling either.

how many of you with offsets less than 38 on the front wheels are able to tolerate the steering wheel jerking out of your hand with every bump and having to replace your worn out suspension components every two years?
I had 34 offset wheels on my 2001 LS430 and the ride sucked ***. Steering was jerky, it made immense tire noise when turning, and the suspension started taking a beating, making creaks and pops. The dealer had to tighten all the suspension nuts/bolts and it went away. Made driving the car not enjoyable any more.
You'd have to put a gun to my head for me to drive with 24mm offset up front.
