Many say they don't fit, but that's BS. they do fit. I'm trying to find out what offset these guys were running and what size tires? Yes a tight fit, but it can be done. I have some 20's from my old Rx300 and just want to see if they will work on the is300 as I might be buying one. Oh and for the RX owners out there, Everyone said numerous times that 22's wouldn't fit , but i've seen one in person and talked to the owner and these things look great!!

well there r a couple members who run 20's in the rear and 19's in the front but i haven't seen anyone really do 20's all around...

20's on IS look horrible.
Bigger doesn't mean it looks better..........
U can fit 22's on IS & 24's on RX if u want to, I'm pretty sure someone can do it for u.

I have seen a silver one with 19s/20s, aero, and aggressive lowering and it looked good. I think 20 all around would be too much. I also know the IS runs a REALLY high factory offset (something in the high 40s low 50s range I think), so your RX wheels may not fit.

My .02, sell the RX wheels, and get a 19/20 setup, I will try to find a pic, if I had a IS, my handle would be DGOT19/20s LOL

I see that mr. who has a pic in the gallery with some 20's on the back as well. I like the oversize rim look personally, never been a fan of the whole deep dish thing, everyone has their own tastes. I assume the 8.5" rim won't fit on the front, or isn't there a small enough tire to fit? My rims have a +38 offset, which would be great for a GS, I just didn't know about the IS. I was hoping if I went with the IS over the GS I could still reuse the rims. Choices

yup, 20 in the back and 19 in the front has been done before on the is, but from what i read on that car, it wasn't done without a lot of modification, etc... from my friend with 19s hre on the is3, and the amount of work he had to do to avoid rubbing, etc... i can honestly say 20s MIGHT fit, but it's not going to be fun and lowering would be a major problem. of course i am talking about a reasonable setup, something staggered like 8 in the front and 9 in the back, and with 225 and 255 tires at least. i am sure with 20x8 and 235 tires you can probably put that in the rear

Yeah bud, I kinda figured you had a offset around that area, to be honest I do not think that low offset, and wide width will work, at least not without some serious body work, good luck.

if you get a GS, btw, you can run those wheels with a 245 tire in the front no prob, thats the same front wheel offset spec that I have.

yes the is3 needs very high offset, you can get some ideas from the faq sticky i put up there

and yes, putting 8.5 in the front of the is3 is very tough too. even with 8 and 225, if you lower the car quite a bit you will start to have some rubbing issues already (19), so with 20s it's even worse (out of spec). and if you do 8.5, i pretty much can guarantee you won't be able to do a full lock turn

rominl, i'm running 18x8.5 in front, no rub, 225/40 tire.. yeah it's a bit thin

that blue car posted above with the 20x9s in the rear had a LOT of work done to get them to fit. since the owner no longer has that car and the wheels are on someone else's IS, i'll give some information out.

fenders totally shaved (there is no fender lip)
wheels modified (i believe some of the mounting surface was shaved off to raise the offset)
extra camber dialed in ( the wheels were literally like / \ )

with all this work, they still rubbed. i guess if you get a wheel with little to no lip, and a +55 or higher offset, t might work.

btw stock IS300 wheels are 17x7 with a +50 offset.

i saw an IS local with 19s front and 20s rear L Sportline IV

You could use the new Pirelli NERO 245/30-20 front and 285/25-20 rear, but this will require major fender mods in the rear and a 'perfect' offset. For this set-up, you'd want to go 20x8.5 front & 20x10 rear.

Also, Nitto has a new 20" tire out for 'sport compact' cars. If I recall, it's 225/30-20. I think BFG has one this size, too.
This would work well on the IS, but there is no matching (wider) rear tire to go with it.
