I have an issue where I can't detect what's causing an intermittent clunking noise in the front of my 2016 GS350 F Sport RWD. The car has been lowered on RSR Best *i coilovers for a bit more than a year now. It also has adjustable upper control arms for camber adjustments for about the same amount of time.
Since hearing the clunking sound, I have swapped out stabilizer bar links twice and have also replaced the OEM bushings with like for like. Still the sound persists. I'm starting to think a bit far fetched and wondering if it could possibly be one of the engine mounts. The car is currently at 51K miles.
I don't know if anyone has had similar issue with their car, but I would greatly appreciate any advice that could help to detect and solve this annoying problem.
You could check if its actually your moon roof seal first if anything.
I personally had clunking in the rear but yours in the front.
They are Truhart adjustable upper control arms. The moonroof I hardly ever open. I jnkw sound travels, but the clunking definitely sounds like it's coming from the front of the car. The steering still feels tight and I can't find anything wrong with the suspension parts. I might have to take a look at the front shocks.
I had this too, it was due to loose lower lock collar on coilover. Check those again, as well as tie end rods for sway bars.
Thanks much for the feedback. I have checked the coilover locking nuts a few times and they are tight. Sway bars have new bushings and end links. The tie rods are super tight with the boots still intact and the steering on point.
I've been doing a bit of research and it does seem the sunroof is a strong contender. I'm going to check it tomorrow for any play or looseness..
