Default Struts - Tanabe vs Ultra Racing

Anyone tried the Ultra Racing front strut bars instead of the Tanabe?

I seem to prefer the Ultra Racing for two reasons:

1) Appearance. It is colored white and does not stick out like the Tanabe's bright red.
2) Function. The design allows you to keep the F Sport dust caps whereas the Tanabe's require you to remove them.

Anyone have any experience?

I finally got around to installing it over the weekend and have driven around 75 miles on them. The difference is subtle but definitely noticeable when cornering. Hard to quantify the difference and It won't be everyone's cup of tea but for me it was worth it and the fact that I can keep the original AVS dust covers was a bonus. I'm sure the Tanabe TTB170F is good also, but you have to remove your dust covers (if you have the F Sport trim). All in all, the investment was sound.

Yeah, it almost looks like it belongs since both the strut towers and the strut bar are white so they blend in. I was thinking about buying the Tanabe but really did not like the amount of contrast it had and the AVS covers needing to be removed. One downside of these is that they are quite expensive compared to the Tanabe. You can order them from UltraRacing-USA, free shipping from California. I intend to buy all of the underbracing and their sway bars which they promised me they are working on getting in stock. Once they have those, I will install everything at once. I tried to get some stuff from Think Japan but they could not promise fitment on the AWD, only on the RWD so I did not buy from them.

Here is link to the UltraRacing-USA in case anyone is interested:

Looks good! Any plans for adding any of their braces on the underside?

Yes, I am working with their team in California to get all the parts ready. They have everything except for the sway bars. I am looking to upgrade my suspension with those bars. I want to order everything together and get a discount which is why I am waiting for all the parts to come into stock.

Sweet! At least you don't have to worry about that damn plate Lexus slapped on the 2018s.

Do you think this will work for my GS? It's a non F-sport.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Megan-Racin...AAAOSwGNxbGM36

I assume the mounts should be the same correct? I thinking of testing it out and see if it fits. Or get a solid one.

Ok just wanted to make sure. Because on the listing it says F Sport only. But I assumed if the mounting holes for the struts are the same on the FSport and base then the only difference is the electronics sitting on top of the struts which I don't have so It's not a problem. I think I'm gonna try those out.

Yes, only difference between the two is the F-Sport has the AVS and dust covers on top. The non-F sport does not have them. Mounting points should be the same.

So I am looking at the Ultra Racing site and see so many other parts for the undercarriage for front and rear bracing. Is there any info on how each one of those change the handling dynamics and how much of an effect it has on the dynamics change (small, medium, large), etc.?

In addition, does the Megan Racing tower brace that aachowhan posted a link for above work for the F-sport and allow the dust covers to stay on?
