Rear Shock-absorbers IDs
Good day.
Milage: 70000 km (4.5 y).
VIN: JTHCE1BL805006240
The problem is with the rear shock-absorbers. They are making noise (knocking) while active wheel steering or riding bumb roads.
This problem appeared more than 1 year ago, I visited official dealer, non-official dealer, everybody told me that the suspension is perfect, but the noise was still heard.
About 2 years ago the official dealer has replaced the rear-left shock-abrosrber by warranty, the milage was 48000 km.
Today I visited the official dealer and he told me that I need to replace both rear shock-absorbers.
But, I was very surprised when he told me, that there are 3! different part numbers of shock-absorbers for my car, because the shock-absorbers were updated time-to-time. What is the reason? Increasing of lifetime, safety? If so, why do I have to use old shock-absorbers, which shoud be thrown-out?!
I have read a thread in russian lexus forum, that the same problem was with GS and a service-team from Japan arrived to find out what was wrong. The result was that the owner's car was replaced with the new shock-absorbers.
What is the difference between the following part numbers of shock-absorbers???
48530-80633 (I have this one on the right side)
48530-80713 (the old left one was replaced by this one new by warranty)
48530-80759 - ? I need to buy these two for my own money.
