Default Introduction/Wheel/RCA Blocks

First off this place is great!!!! I've read the whole wheel thread and lowering thread. Great information and great start to get an idea what to expect and what to do and not do. Now to some questions. I have an 07 Gs350 awd. I been in close contact with my wheel shop and he has talked to his rohana wheel contact and has ordered me 20x9 offset 35 and 20x10.5 offset 40 in the back. 245/35/20 up front and 275/30/20 in the back. How do you guys feel about this set up? By the way it will be the Rohana RC5s. Also I know I'm gonna look like a monster truck until I drop this thing. What I don't want to do is slam the car or deal with the wear and tear of dropping a car. Not to mention the rubbing issues. So if I get these RCA blocks to drop me down a bit will I still rub with this current set up? Also I'm in the Chicagoland area and I see some of you are in the area dropped running staggered set ups, I would love to meet some of you guys who has dropped it and let me see it in person and chop it up get some ideas.

Thanks

82 views no ideas? Hahaha!! Anyway I have my answer they do rub on tight turns up front. People who run this set up what did you do help with the rub? Do we shave the wheel liner down or just take it out? What are some of you guys doing?

Thanks

Your front offset is not aggressive, taking the liners out should do but if still rub need to roll or more neg camber or do both if it still rub.

I have a 20*9 on 245/35 upfront (overspec tire) on 20mm rca's, and I rubbed immediately on full turns or really deep dips. It's nothing major. I'm going to heat gun the fender lining when i get a second to do it. Folks here have said even after the heat gun approach you may still rub some, although obviously not as much with the additional clearance. I don't care.

The extra meat on the tires was worth it to me, and I'm not looking for a show car. I just wanted to dress up the car a bit with a simple wheel that makes it look like it should have come stock from the factory because the thing looks hideous with the existing suspension.

Also FWIW,

I think it comes down to wheel choice too. Some wheels make the car look outright foolish without a significant drop, and others may allow you to "get by" if you have the right combination. A perfect example of this was geryhdfan's car when he was just running the 25mm rca block upfront. It looked great to me as something that would meet my needs. Looked even better when he added the 30mm in the rear, but i wouldn't do that because I have and AWD and the RCA only drop would not be even at all.

In his case, he had just the right wheel to make the look work...Just my 2 cents for you.

like mentioned above it will rub on full turns since the tire should be a 245/30

Well the wheels are on! It's not as bad as i expected. But i think the RCA blocks would make it look a tad bit better up front. But i appreciate the input. I really didnt have time to take out the liner this weekend. But this week i will take it out and see what i have to work with. THanks Fellas!!!
