tanabe nf210 springs are only 5% stiffer than oem springs, so it should not kill your shocks. Imho, nf210 offer the best solution in terms of reducing wheel gap and keeping stock ride. Many members here have them installed (including myself). Of course coilovers offer the best performance if you want to go that route.
go with coils, you won't regret it! and you'll have all the options to even ride softer than stock if you want. Worse thing that can happen is wasting money on NF springs and install to then wish you could make adjustments to height and tension.
