Default more questions on awd vibrations

I have a awd gs lowerd down to one finger gap. And im aware of the vibrations when stoped and the wobbles from 0-10 mph but some times I get vibrations when im driving and some times I dont. but my question is are those vibrations caused from being lowerd? This all started when I went lower. thanks for any answers.

Im going to say yes. Based on everything you stated and everyone else's vibration issues, they are caused by lowering your car.

You made a mistake lowering the car. I love my pickup truck sedan.

In short, YES!

Mine is at its worst when its cold out especially this time of year. During the winter i get more vibrations and the rattles and squeaks come back.

has no one come to resolutions with this? I mean, the AWD guys from Mitsu and Subie have never really had problems lowering their car.....

apparently it just needs a longer axle, I'd take the car to a local axle shop and have them fab up some longer axles for you (refer to the suspension page for details).

sounds expensive..Correct me if i am wrong, but isn't one known problem with lowering cars is that down the road, the axles will fail? Right now my axles are already starting to slighty spew out some oil.

no more than you would usually pay for an OEM axle, someone said 1600+ for 2 axles..... that's insane, the shop quoted me a long time ago around 800 to do my miata's rear axle, custom tailored too, and able to handle approximately 600HP+ (maybe 400lbs of TQ?).

Like I said in the other post, if anyone is AWD, lowered, and in the orlando area, it could be awesome to help a lot of members on here out and possibly solve your axle dilemma .

As for you Lex Luga, axles spewing out oil sounds like a problem outside of it failing, seems like in the process of lowering your vehicle, you ripped the axle rubber covering. That is easily fixable and you'll be saving yourself from a future 1600+ axle job =]. Your axle TRULY fails when it starts clicking when you turn

didn't one of our members come up with a solution to the awd drive problem? let me see if i can find it...

edit: ok, found the link, but it was not a complete fix, just a reduction in the vibration. still better than nothing i guess....

my spacers reduced my vibrations down to almost nothing. while it was still slightly noticeable, it decreased by almost 90% and i was tucking tires at that point

it's just a CV boot, cost maybe $50 for the whole fix? (per side probably). Get'er done, that oil coming out means that you're slowly losing lubrication and that your axles will fail soon.

50 bucks sounds too cheap for this job. Changing the boot is actually slightly more work than replacing the entire axle.
