Well, I got up the nerve to "hit" one of those speed humps at about 10 mph, and I definitely did not bottom out. It's so much stiffer than my stock setup that I thought for sure it was going to though. This is my first lowered car ... guess I'm still getting used to what is normal.

Pheww. I dunno. The springs might hold up OK, but I'm worried my training wheels might fall off.

Well what's your goal? Coilovers aren't automatically better contrary to what most people on CL says so you need to consider your goal and budget.

Go coilovers only if you can afford a nice set. Honestly I'd rather take a full set of F-sport shock/springs than the NEX crap you find on ebay. But if you're not going to fork out the money for a quality set, then just keep the springs. It's all or nothing, but please, no in-between ebay stuff

My 2006 GS300 seems to sway from the front end at crusing speed. The dealer finds nothing wrong with the car, alignment is fine so they say. It is a CPO and I have noticed this since I bought it in January. I find myself suddelnly "drifting" to a side and then correct my steering, then feel like I have to correct back. The car is also affected by SUVs going by sometimes, wind etc. I would think this car should be a great hwy cruiser. What can I do to better the handling without ruining the ride and what is the aprox.cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone knows a good suspension shop in South East Florida, please let me know. Feel free to PM me.I have stock size 17" tires but not run flats and they are filled with nitrogen at about 39 lbs. I probably can't afford to do suspension work and tires and wheels at the same time and probably would never go larger than say 17 or 18" wheels anyway. I am not looking to slam the car and am fine with the way it looks stock. Just not fine with its hwy manners.

Thanks!

How is your tire wear? When was the last time you got an alignment?

I only bought the car in January and the dealer did an alignment about two months ago.It barely made a diffence in the handling. Tire wear is normal and balanced.

I thought I read something about the 3rd gen GS having this issue in the main forum, I dont remember the thread though. The car owner finally was able to get the dealer to make the correction.
