well after installing my coils tuesday night, i didnt really get a chance to get out and drive the car. took the car out last night to drive it and i have vibrations all over from the front end

it pretty much vibrates a good 80% of the time that i am driving it. even when parked i can feel the car vibrating . I have a very good feeling though that the front end is set too low (its tucking the stock 17" tire right now in the front). The front is approx 1 1/2" lower than the rear and i believe the cv joint is just at an odd angle causing these vibrations. I plan to raise the car up in the front tomorrow to make it level with the rear to see if this gets rid of the problem.

did yours come with pillowball mounts? i have not cracked open my package yet. it was my understanding through the CM thread that all sets would come with those to help eliminate vibration, though i may have read it wrong. may be worth the investment given tungo's experience...

^ i think pillowball upper mount helps with road feel, but more prone to vibration and noise since it replaces rubber.. i never had a coilover set, so correct me if i'm wrong..

according to the other thread, wasn't that pre-set from the factory? how bad is the vibration? let us know w/ update..

no, its an option but i didnt want to pay the extra for the mounts. its not vibrating up at the strut mounts its down by the axles. like i said, i just think the cv joint is at a bad angle causing this. once i raise it, it should fix it hopefully.

yes your right. i did not adjust the ride height at all. i did adjust the dampening though (highly doubt that will cause anything). if you look at the car from the side you can clearly see the back is higer than the front. the back looks like a 2 finger gap where as the front is tucking the tire lol. im going to level it out tomorrow and see how it is.

I had mine installed a couple days ago. Had to convince the guys that it was for my car as all the packaging kept referring to an IS250 AWD. When they were done, they said it was the easiest coil over install they've ever done.

It rides better than stock struts and DF210s, especially when it comes to the bumps. I now have a 2 finger gap all around, which is a bit higher than the DF210s. Still playing with the dampening. i'm currently on 8 clicks from softest in the front and 5 clicks in the rear. I'll increase this by 4 on both ends today.

The bad thing is that I still have those damn vibrations from 10-20mph. I may raise the car up more, but if I do, then I should have just gotten NF210s. I wish I did more research on this car and bought a 350 RWD drive instead.

i had serious vibrations when my front was slammed and it believe it was because the car was out of level (from front to back) and the cv joint was at an odd angle.

after i raised my front to match my rear, it got ride of about 95% of the vibrations. i still have a slight 0-10mph every once and a while but i also havent had my car aligned yet.

heres how my car sits

I'll try to raise it up a bit this weekend - hopefully its easy. The last coilovers I ever played with were ground controls on my integra 12 years ago!

You get those extenders from Tristan over at Circuit? Those things are great!
