Default H-tein lowered, NOW vibration...

Hey guys...just lowered my 07 GS 350 AWD with the h-teins. It lowered 1" inch total in the rear and about 1.5" inchs total in the front (did it my self, if u have questions on how to's just ask). Car looks great now, even with the stock 17's...Handles overall much better, feels more like a bmw 3seriers with the sport suspention option (for Comparisons), flatter on turns, just a bit stiffer, with no increase in rattles so far...NOW, heres the issue (first car i ever owned with aftermarket lowered springs) when off the line, theres an extremely slight vibration to untill around 20mph, before lowered nothing, and using same tire/wheels on same rotation as before. Could live with this no problem, its sooooo slight only i could prob notice....The big thing is when in idle (not in park, does not do it), like stopped at a red light, the car vibrates WAY more than before, worst before it warms up in the morning. When driving kinda nothin, but not sure if this is expected with lowered cars. Again i have the H-teins, which are the mildest and softes springs for the 07 GS. If u guys could chim in it would be very awesome...

Sounds like an installation problem or the spring not seated properly in the perch. Who did your install?

Maybe the OP will start a new thread once his issue is resolved. Then we can do the usual "Nice shots, looking good " posts again.

Did he make sure the shock mounts were bolted down properly? the vibration/rattling you're experiencing is not correct. But then again, the H-Techs you have were designed for the RWD version.

When i put it in park it totally goes away, it feels like i changed the motor mounts with stiffer ones, but of course i didnt bc i dont think theyl EVER make them for our cars...Quick question, when lowering a car with stiffer springs can that cause an increase in idle vibration in the cab?

It might be because you did not preload the suspension prior to bolting down everything again. Preloading also help prevent premature wear on the bushings as well.

Shoot....Didnt do that. Kinda had each side up on the jack respectively (the jack was on the frame), and tighten every thing up before putting the wheel on and moving to the next side/wheel to start allover again...maybe thats it, thanks bro. gona give it a couple more days to c if it goes away, if not guess ill have to get down and dirty again...

Preloading your suspension doesn't do anything for your issues.

Sure it does, it prevents premature bush wear. Just picture a bushing... while its in the free air and being tighten and then lowered after, the bushing tends to sit differently. Now if that bushing had load on it prior to being lowered onto the ground then it would sit the same way as if it would have been preloaded.

Anyways, if that doesn't help or "irrelevant" to the problem then it might be your alignment since you did lower the car. Maybe something was moved a tad bit that caused the alignment to become out of place and only felt while in low speeds.

Some other ideas why it vibs while stopped at a red light and not while in park is because there is some load from the brakes while in drive mode.

Anyways, these are just ideas to help you figure it out.
