Default front STB on '03 430

I have an '03 GS 430 and I want to install a front STB. Which one can I use and still keep the engine cover on?? It seems that I have to ditch the cover to have any STB...or can I still keep it on with somebody's brand. I await help and opinions

TRD STB will not clear the cover on a GS430. GS430 cover is higher than the GS400. Haven't found a STB that will allow the cover to remain in place yet. In the past posting a C-One STB will clear it with additional spacers.

i have the C-ONE STB with 2 spacers on each struts..and it barely just clears the cover.
i'd say....try TOMs STB with spacers on. it might clear as well but im not sure tho........
but....i mean..just take off the cover. the cover just makes the engine bay look niceer thats all..

Tried a Tom's STB with one spacer at each end. Following is a picture of what happens with one end attached to the tower and the other up in the air.

FYI. I painted the red Tom's STB as black. End up returning the Tom's STB to Steve Ganz.

nah, no way the tom will fit. tom's stb isn't that much higher than the trd at all, so if trd is no no, toms's too

So what exactly does the engine cover do?? Heat or noise insulation? Will I notice anything if I get rid of the engine cover on a 430??

I think it is more for engine noise. There is a 1/4" white layered felt insulation sheet and some dense black foam block in some areas under the engine cover on the GS430.

As for noticing any differences. Don't remember. Unless you have your engine hood open there maybe some noise difference between with and without engine cover.
