Brakes Scraping
I can hear a scraping sound as I'm slowing to a stop in my GS 300. It's most noticable when the wheels are turned. I have 32K miles on the car. I don't think its worn pads but could be.
Any thoughts? Thanks

Yeah, you definitely have busted pads. I had the same exact problem as you and just replaced my rear pads and the sound is now gone. Go get it checked. Safety first, bro!

I am experiencing a similar problem with my '99 GS 300. My rear brakes were actually wearing on my rotors. So I have to get them refaced. Overall I'm getting new pads on all four wheels and the rear brakes resurfaced for 400. Is this a good price? I called another company and they quoted me at 300 over the phone, but that will undoubtedly get jacked up once they get it in the shop. Does anyone have advice?

My rear passenger wheel was making a lot of noise so I went to a "Flat Fix" place . I made him take the tire off and he show me how the rear pads where worn out and the caliper screw was scraping against the wheel.
He told me to get the pads and he will do it for $30. I bought OEM pads for $35 from a local auto parts store. Lexus wanted $80 for them. I saw the guy change them and it was so easy. It took him less than 40 min for both rears. They are like cartridges and slip right in. I think I can do it myself next time. Total was $65. Not bad.
I didn't want to upgrade the rear pads so I stuck with the OEMs. I am going to invest better quality pads for the front when its time to change.
