Question

i have a 96 gs 300 and i want upgrade the springs. i think eibach (1.2" drop) is not low enough and intrax (1.75" drop) is too low. what is better for gs300 in terms of appearance, handling, comfort, and reliability?

Cool

Eibach, Eibach, Eibach, and Eibach.

Since it seems hard for you to decide on a height setting, you can go for adjustable coilovers. Like Tein HA.

I have no experience with Intrax but have had and heard nothing but good things about Eibach (on non Lexus apps). While at Cartech in 1990 a customer (turned out to be a neighbor) wanted springs for his 88 Supra Turbo with 360hp. Cartech had been selling the Suspension Techniques springs but the were VERY harsh. I suggested Eibach based on reviews. He raved about the Eibachs. Many people since have told me great things. Eibachs typically are progressive rate springs that start soft and get harder the farther the suspension travels. This yields a confortable ride with excellent control.

we used to sell intrax at my old shop...i never liked them. they're fine for cars that you just want to lower...that's it. if you want funtionality...then go with eibach. my experiences with intrax goes further...but i really don't want to go there with this. plus, i haven't worked with any intrax springs for some time now (maybe about 3-4 years) they may have gotten better...but i dunno.

if anyone wants eibachs, you can email HIBBoyScott...he has a good deal going on some eibachs from a regional rep in his area...he's been selling some eibachs on the IS300.net site for a while now. very reliable source.

this is the thread on the Is300.net site: http://www.is300.net/forum_new/Forum3/HTML/000108.html

Eibach will only lower 1" not 1.25". I have Eibach Prokit installed in my GS430 and I love it, specially with the combination of Bilstein Sport Shock. Perfect!
