I have frozen rotors on my NSX which are cryo treated and they are amazing. They are made to order though so the lead time is a few weeks...

Highly recommended. I'm planning on ordering some with some G-LOC R6 pads...

I've also ran StopTech slotted cryo-treated rotors in the past. Big fan, although they are overkill for the casual commuter.

yes but the benefits of the cryo treated rotors is that you get a lot more miles out of them and stand up well to even some mild track days...

Approximately how much longer do they last versus non cryo rotors?

With my NSX, it used to be my daily driver and I was amazed at how long they lasted... the rotors out lasted the pads... so I went thru 2 sets of pads before changing out the rotors again. Also recommend getting stainless steel brake lines as well.

It seems like we have similar tastes on brake set ups on our non-Lexus cars. I ran stainless steel lines on my previous Audis and found the difference to be worthwhile. However, I've read that 3IS brake lines are some sort of kevlar-compound and the performance on the OEM ones is actually superior to stainless steel. Can anyone corroborate this?

Ah I didn't know that ... if that is the case then replacing them may not be worth it.... not sure though. I'm looking at ordering the frozen rotors from Mark at frozenrotors.com. He said the lead time is a week and the cost for all 4 corners is ~$375... not bad.

Also emailed Danny at G-LOC Brakes (formerly carbotech) to get the same pads I have on my NSX... they're also made to order.

That's not a bad price at all for cryo-treated rotors. Might have to look into that.

Whoa $375 is not bad at all!

Looks like I have a typo! Sorry guys:

Here's the email from Mark at Frozen Rotors: "Thank you for reaching out! The Street Sport Cryo rotors for your Lexus will run $214.78 each for the fronts and $161.08 for the rears. I'm a little over a week out on these. How soon do you need them?"

So 429.56 for the front and 322.16 for the rears... still not bad though...

I was looking into their kit. Is the brake force much better than stock or is it just a little better?

Where did you read about the brake lines being some sort of Kevlar?
