I have a Rod millen 2000 gs400
upperlower strut bar braces, trd sway bars, 19"hre's, eibach springs, kyb shocks(ask if you need more info)
i am having some handling problems:
#1. When ever i hit a bump in a turn my car feels like I am losing control!!!
#2. When i take a turn real hard my car feels really unsturdy in the turn (almost like a sideways
skipping)
SOMEBODY please help me!!! i need to know how to fix these problems
it sounds to me like you have some bump-steer issues. In other words, the added suspension components might be causing your chassis to be too stiff therefore causing your car "skip" when hitting a bump in a turn. My suggestion would be to put your stock sway bars back on and see if that helps reduce the "skip". If so, you might want to sell the trd's and get the Daizen sways which are a little more forgiving. Also, I'm not too familiar with the KYB shocks but they might be a major factor in your problem. Are they a stiff shock?
not the bars itself but take down front part of eng cover and look at the mounting brackets for the sways if you have trq wrench tighten each font to no more than 19 lbs and also look to see if brackets itself are cracked for the end links look behind frint tires at the ends of the sway bars for the link make sure each are not snapped in 2
Let us know if there are any unusual noises going on (clunks usually go with the broken or loose ARB parts). If you have nothing broken or loose, it just sounds like the suspension is too stiff causing the loss of traction when you hit a bump (and my guess would be it is worse with a bigger bump/higher speed combo, particularly in the rear). Most cars have this problem as you tweak the suspension but the GS seems to be particularly prone to some undesirable side effects when you stiffen it up. My wife's 2k3 GS3 is acting very different from my 2k1 GS4 and has me doing some (expensive) experimentation with components. Big tires and all the bars in the world are worthless if the tires aren't on the ground. Soften it up and stick better.
i am thinking about teins will that help? and which ones should i get if i do not want much harsher of a ride then i have now.
Also do they make a camber kit or a way for me to adj my camber father out so it is less of a negative # so that i stop burning though tires in inside of the rear edges and the front inside edges?
