Vibrations from lowering questions
I've read threads from people getting vibrations due to lowering there Lexus awd I've only seen people post on 06-08 and one 09....I have a 2011 was wondering if people are still having this issue in this year Lexus thanks
too many variables to give you a definite answer.
what most likely happens is that lowering the older cars further accelerates an already tired shock absorber so more vibrations are felt.
it's best to replace the shock when swapping springs. you might as well since you have to reuse the top hats anyway.
lower the car, then get a proper alignment after. the car should not have vibrations if it didn't have any in the first place and everything was installed correctly.
keep in mind vibration is different from a stiffer ride quality.

I think all the AWD 2ISs share this same problem. Some are luckier than others with the amount of vibrations in the cabin, usually you get used to it after a while. If you search the forums there are numerous speculations on why this occurs such as the CV axle being at an angle it's not used to so it is riding on a grooved portion of the joint inside IIRC. There's also a thread on CL about gettiing a spacer installed between your hub and CV axle which some have deemed legitimate whilst some don't have the same luck.
I installed h&r spring with brand new kyb shocks last year . Shake was very noticeable on highway deceleration and at idle. I drove around with it for a month thinking it would go away. It didnt , so i added 1/2" motor mount spacers to correct the shaft angle a little. This helped a little , especially the idle shake, but still it was there. About a month later my back driver side tire (Aftermarket 19" staggered setup) got a flat tire. I bolted on the spare tire to limp home. The AWD light in the dash turned on, i suspect due to tire OD difference. The car instantly had no more shake and drove like stock. I fixed the flat and and reinstalled my 19" rim. The AWD light shut off and car still has no shake to date. Not sure what really fixed the shake, im just happy its gone .
