The front lower control arm on a 2017 RWD is different to a 2014-2016 RWD.
Another member discovered this also.
It appears the control arm changed from steel (2014-2016) to aluminum (2017+).
Also, the bushing that was in the bottom of the strut (2014-2016) has now been moved into the control arm (2017+).

The 2017+ RWD front lower control arm resembles more closely the 2014-2016 AWD front lower control arm. I don't believe they are the same though...haven't seen any part numbers to confirm.

I figured this was the case when I started looking at lexus oem parts. So now I think my option is to change the lower control arm back to the 2014-2015 models

When I enter my VIN in lexusparts.com it shows 2016 model (JTHBE5D24G5028706)

I actually started looking and I think the previous control arms would fit since the other components like the knuckle, control arm bracket and suspension crossmember have the same OEM numbers (except for the suspension). This is the reference I used click here from oemlexusparts.com

So I got these numbers for the LH and RH
  • 4864053020
  • 4862053020
Current numbers are; supposedly according to oemlexusparts.com:
  • 4864053050
  • 4862053050
Hope you guys can confirm if this will be no problem or will I have to kill my self

Dont compare with a 2014, some of the parts were carried over from previous gen.
from what i see, the rears are the same, the fronts are different from rwd/awd f-sport models. 2016/2017
this is just searching for front shocks

I think hijack may be considering swapping the front lower control arms on his 2017 RWD for a 2014-2016 RWD.
That would resolve his coilover fitment issue.
Although, considering the difference between the two control arms, I would stick with the 2017 ones...but then the coilovers won't work.

Shorter one was from the 2017.

Correct me if I'm wrong so this means I'm the only one that has coilovers installed on a 2017? lol.

Damn...hijack was serious about getting them coilovers on. Respect to the mechanic for doing that on the ground.
I think you definitely get first place for the first 2017 RWD lowered on coilovers.
Unfortunately corradoMR2 snags first place for 2017 overall, his 2017 AWD is lowered on Neosport coilovers from a few months back. I don't think there was a change to the AWD front lower control arm...it's already aluminum with the bushing in the arm for the strut support bracket.

Sasnuke tells the truth

To add to his explaination, the 2017+ front suspension is more like the GS and RC front suspension now so coiloveres for 4GS and 1RC will work for +17' IS

Hijack - please post pics of the finished product, and let us know how the coilovers ride. I have been considering those coilovers.
