When I brake .. the reverse lights come on... what is the mystery?. is it the bulbs, switch or fuses?

When you put it in reverse do the brake lights come on? Did someone put the bulbs in the wrong location on the back of the lamp housing?

I have found out a little more of the problem... I do have the left outside bulb out... but the inside brake lights do work... and those are the ones that are appearing to look like reverse lights... I did a closer look .and it appears that the red film of the plastic cover has worn off from the inside?? and makes them appear to be reverse lights.. has anyone heard of this happening before... looks like I need to replace the inside brake lights cover... as well...? I confirmed this by backing up to a large glass window and check the brake pedal...and looking into the rear view mirror..

I have the the outers only from a 98 only. Pm if interested, or really upgrade to the DEPO LED Tail lights. You can find them on eBay.
