What are PU bushings?

i too just got this brace today. Does anybody know the torque specs for the bolts that mount these braces on our cars? Particularly the one circled in the picture above?

thanks

i just ordered the front upper and rear upper strut tower bars from ultra racing. I'll have every brace they offer, but no sway bars from them, mine are from cusco. Will report how they feel.

@Yodog

PU= Polyurethane Bushings.

For the torque specs search The RR Racing bushing install threads. Some mainly the ISF ones cals out the torque specs on the thread.

For the Ultra Racing LA2-171 front under brace, what should I have my mechanic torque the bolts to? And how much is a fair price to get it installed?

The Ultra Racing bar I mentioned above doesn't fit the AWD. I'm not sure if the RWD subframe is less thinner than the AWD. When trying to install it mounts fine to the LCA rear bushings, but it won't mount to the body. I'm left with an estimated 1" gap. I'm really disappointed, because I wanted to stiffen up the front chassis. As for now I will be selling it on the classifieds. Since I was installing it myself I did manage to scuff of the paint a little. Nothing major that impacts the design of the bar. For quality it's a well designed piece. It's steel approx weight about 3-5 lbs.

That sucks! I thought braces were pretty universal but I guess not. Did you contact them beforehand about fitment on AWD? Possible manufacturing defect?

Nope I didn't. I thought it would fit. Judging from the pics the AWD subframe is thicker than the RWD. I'm assuming it puts it about 1"Lower to the body. Hence my issue.

Given the larger rear diff of the rwd is versus AWD I guess it makes sense

Yes sir. Maybe "YODOG" can chime in. I think he has the RWD mounted already on his car.

I finally got around to asking my fab shop friend at work to modify the brace. I hope it does some good in the end.

I found this on the RCF forum. TOMS is just a straight bar design.

The car is handling great with all the braces so far. The one I just got modified it helped some, but not a night and day difference. I can tell it's more useful when switching lanes, and some hard cornering. My only complaint is my new Michelin AS3+ tires. They feel too soft almost too floaty. I liked my old Sumitomo HTR way better.

Good to hear! I'm surprised you're saying that about the AS3+, I thought it was supposed to be best in the segment

No they are good. They're definitely quiet tires. Since they are new. I feel I have more side wall now. A little less responsive. It almost feels like when cornering they are folding. My car doesn't have much body roll as when I first got it. It's definetly braced up with all the items on it. Tire rack says you need a "500" mile break in. As the tires age. I'm sure they will get better.
