Default Just had my TEINs serviced -Impressions

I have had my TEIN flex on for about 5k miles now. They were installed by a local Midas tech that installs this kind of stuff. He did a great job and took the time and trouble to get them perfectly set up to the ride height I wanted.

What you have to keep in mind is that these guys are just installers. They don’t know how to service or perform regular maintenance. They are not trained or certified in the product either.

Modding a car is like getting an expensive haircut. You constantly need maintenance!

Having TEINs coilovers and the galore of suspension products from TOMS and TRD. With all this stuff, you need to keep a close eye on everything.

Today, I went to an authorized TEIN dealer/installer. I decided to do this after I felt the car was not a 100% after trying to catch a modded 330 on the highway and falling behind. Matching his speed was no problem, it was that his car was handling way better than mine in and out of traffic. My car just felt a bit loose.

The TEIN dealer cleaned out all my coils, re-torqued my upper pillow mounts, repositioned the strut and tightened up the entire aftermarket TOM suspension f/r brace, 6-piece links and coilovers. Also, very important was that he cleaned out my sways of all the road grime and heavily regreased all the bushings.

All I can say is WOW. What a difference. The car handles way better than before and is just so much smoother over bumps and seems to hug the road a lot nicer. I am very impressed with the supension as it now glides over bumps and not that heavy thumping sound like before. Now, if I can only find that modded 330 CI.

I agree. Everytime I bring my car in for service I have the mechanic inspect, tighten and grease everything. All the extra mods make me a bit paranoid. The ongoing maintenance costs are well worth the peace of mind. Good Hunting!
