I think the most common is Tein. I have the Tein CS the older one and then theres the newer Tein CST. Theres also quite a number of other coilovers like Toms, Zeal, Ksport, TRD etc

Personal Opinion Tein's are the best I have them on my Supra and also on the SC300

Last year I bought an 02 with Tein CS, and I was rather disappointed in the ride until I drilled holes in the trunk liner to adjust the rears (I could reach the fronts through the STB). After I got everything adjusted, I'm pretty happy now (except for squeeks from the rear Daizen bar). I've nothing to compare it with other than stock setup at the dealer, which definitely felt a bit "out of control".

Yeh these are inexpensive too, I'd like to hear about the ride and the drop. Do you have 20" wheels?

I think the problem with just springs is that over time they will sag/drop.

I personally have the TEIN CST with the EDFC and I love them. I keep the rear tighter then the front and can go from full soft to full stiff
