Brakes click when changing direction
I got this from my.is/
http://my.is/forums/f157/brakes-clic...ection-415455/
Mine does the same thing also an 06. It just recently did it. Less than 2 months of getting it. Any would help. I think time for an upgrade. just pads and rotors for now...maybe

Brake click
I had this problem with my 07, IS350 last August. The dealer said it had somethingt to do with the pads sliding back and forth when the direction changed. They said there was a TSB but didn't give the number. They replaced the front pads with 04465-30400 pad kit. They also show #473301. This fixed the clicking noise and also these pads make almost no dust.

I just picked my car up from the dealer getting the valve spring service done, and had them check out out as well. They say there is nothing wrong with the brakes, and the noise is normal. If anything, the noise is worse now that it was before, and it drive me crazy. Any idea on how to fix it, since the dealer doesn't want to? Should I just look into get new pads or something?

This seems to happen right after painting the brake calipers. When I back up my car, I hear a pop sound, and when i make turn and brake at the same time, i hear the noise too. Then it disappear. It reoccurs again the next day.
I actually took my car to dealer. They said the caliper paint somehow stick to the shim or something and when the pads move, it slides and creates the noise. What they did was they sand down the paint in the inside of the brake calipers, and added some grease on the shims or something and the noise is gone. They advise not to paint the inside of the brake calipers as a prevention.

I want to try this... Any pictures? I think I follow your lube points, but want to double check before I mess up and get grease all over my pads...

Quite normal on all disk braked cars going from forward to reverse and back.
There will always be alittle bit of play on the pins. Some absorb the noise more than others.
If an inspection doesn't show anything untoward learn to live with it.
