Is it possible for big brakes to be (aesthetically) too big?
Just wanted to get your opinions. I am in the process of upgrading my brakes. Better braking is nice and is always a plus. Part of the equations is also looks. I am considering the StopTech brakes because they fit my L-Tuned 18s. My only question now is the 355s (14") or the 332s (13"). I don't plan to track my car so either kit would already be great in terms of street driving. If I had 19s or 20s, I would get the 355s. I don't have current plans to go to 19s or 20s. (With the mod bug, I cannot say with 100% certainty that my wheels will not change. Nonetheless, there are no current upgrade plans for wheels.)
I've attached a pic for consideration. It is off of (I believe IS Pilot's car, hope you don't mind Mike) of the 332s on the stock 17s. I can imagine the 355s on my 18s to be a similar fit. Does it look like it is to crunched in there?

We had a conversation about this in the Smokey Mountains meet. The closest example was a buy someone knew with a 540 that had big brakes and the brakes were 1millimeter away from the wheel. No problems says the guy.
I've never heard of a brake hitting the wheel (caliper). For extra insurance, maybe use a space.
Cause BRAKES CAN NEVER LOOK TO BIG!! (drool)

Remember, I have 18s so it might look more like the 332s in the 17s. I am leaning towards the 355s but just wanted to get confirmation. I don't want to look like I am forcing the brakes in there.

Chris, I really don't think you will look back on your purchase and say, "Gee, wish I would have gotten smaller brakes". Are you getting these brakes at a special price or standard price?

aesthetically, i think brakes can look too big and take away the look of the rim. look at the setups where the rotors fill all the space behind the wheel, and then its kinda hard to pay attention to the wheel. big brakes are nice, but i think they require just a little gap to be an accent instead of the dominating piece

EV ftw!!!
Depending on the type of rim (lots of "see through gap"), I'd say 332's would look crunched in there or would not.
Using the pics you posted as examples where there is a lot of "see through" space, 355's look fine - however on a three piece rim (same size 19inch) the gap between the caliper and the inner edge of the rim would be less. So it boils down to a combination of the rim and rotor size and not just the rotor size.
