Dave - Hehehe...no, not at all, the AP Racing brakes do me just fine...I'm just trying to find a lower cost, high quality big brake solution for fellow Lexus owners.

Well guys, our CNC guy is back on our project so hopefully we'll have something soon...

Hey Sandrock, this project is pretty much dead...the guy we were doing the project with caused some problems and pissed off the CNC guy...

I am working with StopTech and Carson to work out a group buy on a set of their 13", 4-piston setup....if you guys are intersted, email me and let me know...I will email everyone on the Wilwood list as soon as I get final details.

Manaray,
I am very interested in this groupbuy. What kind of price range are we looking at? Also, this kit will fit on the IS300, so I am assuming that it should have no problems fitting on the GS with oem 17inch wheels.

I think you should start a new thread with the stoptech group buy.

Will these fit inside stock 17's so I wont have to get hiDisk and loose some lip(on 20"s)and can still use stock wheels for winter?

Thumbs up

Count me in on the group buy. I think I'll be alright with the 18's on my car.

I'll be a little more than the Wilwood but it'll be less than $1995...

Well you can look on StopTech's website...the GB would be on the 13" Rotor/4-Piston Setup. There are two different ones though...one is designed for cars that are lowered 1" or LESS, the other is for cars that have more than 1" of lowering. The Less than 1" one can work with more conservative wheel setups...the More than 1" requires a high disk. The 14" setup will require a high disk also.

In my SC400 Article, I will be posting a review of my 14" StopTech setup on my SC400 along with photos from their Facility (so you guys can see how they're made)...very knowledgable guys over there and they work very closely with Team Lexus (who's tied for First Place so far this year)

You sure about that. I thought both of the first two brake packages they offer will work on stock 17" wheels?

There are 2 kinds of calipers for 332mm kit. One will clear the stock 17", the other one won't. Stoptech indeed produce quality brake kit. However, when I or rather Todd, tried to put in the brake pads, there were some difficulty fitting in so we had to grind the sides of the pads a little bit. Other than that, the kit is flawless and the brake power for 355mm kit is how I can put this..... WOW.

Manaray,

Nice to see you again. Can't wait to see SC when you finish it.

All I can say about the StopTech Brake kit is WOW. Dunno if you guys follow Sports Compact Magazine where annually they do the Ultimate Street Challenge, consisting of 10 cars. Let's just say on the braking competition the 2 cars out of 10 with the Stop Tech kit took 1st and 2nd. I have the 355mm (14") front and rear kit with Motul fluid and it's amazing. They are much better than the Wilwoods, Baer, and even the 6puck Brembos that I've tested and used previosly on other cars. Maybe it's due to the fact that it's a 4 wheel upgrade kit, but still....... Here's some pics (I know it's an IS but still we're talking about StopTech), luv the way the rotors fill the inner wheel gap
