Hello once again everyone,

Im thinking of buying the H & R springs for my is350 soon and was wondering what exactly needs to be purchased when I do this. I will be taking my car to a shop to have it done, but seeing as how I'm not familiar with how lowering works, I was wondering.. Do I need to buy shocks or struts as well when I put the H&R's on? Or can I just put the springs on and be okay?

I am unfamiliar with how spring's and the like work exactly so if someone could please clarify, that would be great!

Yes, you can just install the springs onto your existing shocks. The shop should have all the tools needed for the install.

However, if your car has some significant mileage on the shocks/struts then you might want to consider getting a new set to be installed along with your springs. (Since you are going to be having the assembly out for the spring install anyways)

Depending on how much lower the H&R will put you at, they will cause your shocks/struts to wear out a bit faster than normal.

In short though, you can definitely just install springs onto the existing shocks if you don't care about potential wear and or possibly having to do the job again at some point in the future.
For the most part you should be fine though and I'd say go for it!

Consider the Koni Yellow shocks if they're in your price range.
They are meant to handle the lowered springs setup and come with adjustable rebound settings

It would be the ultimate spring setup.
