Default Old Spring on new Struts

Struts are toast but I don't have the cash for new springs also. Is it a sin to put old springs (circa 1998) on new struts? Or should I just wait to get new springs?

thanks in advance.

As long as the springs aren't sagging I'd say its fine. You can tell if your ride height is lower than it should be that the springs are bad.
