Default Air-Bagged Suspension Question

Hi,

im either going to get 18" or 19" wheels and tires. Do i need to get wheels and tires then air bags or vice versa?

That's completely up to you. I'll be getting my air installed before mounting my new wheels since I know the rears will need to be modified for them to fit when the car's aired out. That way, I can just drop everything off to the body shop and let them do their thing.

I don't think it matters which one you get first. What kind of air setup you going to use?

My opinion is to do air first then rims. Why??? (This is just my opinion) an air bag balloons up under its operating pressure. Now with that being said, if you had your air strut installed first you could purchase a rim that will not hit or rub your air bag with the right measurement and offsets. Now, if you ordered whatever rim you want first put them on, then did your air ride, and put it all together.....you really risk a chance of your inner lip rubbing against your bag. What's the chances of that happening you say????? Slim, but I've seen inner lips damage air bags. I've also seen inner lips and tires rubbing on coilovers. Just be careful either way you go. Just double check clearances from your bag not rubbing the inner fender well walls or rubbing on your rim/tire. Check clearances when the bag is under operating pressure, not when its deflated or zerod out. Good luck fellas.
