I figured I'd ask this question before I took my car to my machanic,
I have a 98 gs 300 with 80,000 miles on it I'l list the problems and I'm hoping it nothing to serious

1.car drifts whike on the freeway feels like it doesnt have good contact with the road
2.when I shift into any gear but mostly when i shift into reverse going back up a hill I hear a kind of clicking noise
3. car shakes when I'm on the freeway also when I'm braking heavier

I'd appriciate any help I can get

Was your car ever in a wreck? Sounds like a bunch of stuff going on.

At a minimum, sounds like
- wheel balance / 4-wheel alignment (shaking and possibly contact issue)
- brake rotor resurface or replacement (heavier shaking while braking)
- clicking noise, you've got me. Possible tranny issue.

Good luck, get it fixed - doesn't sound safe.

I could not agree more with Dave on all those points.

Tranny issue might cost you some........better have it check out soon before the problem gets worse.

clicking when first applying the brakes upon a change of direction is perfectly normal......"pad shift" as it is called is just your brake pads seating...
