Default RSR Down Springs vs Tein S Techs

Just curious if anyone feels one is better then the other? I'm going to purchase one of these brands sometime this month so im trying to figure out which one is "better". I know the drop rates are similar but does anyone have input on the ride quality?

Any input will help.

Thanks

I think this topic has been beaten to death.

TEIN and RS*R springs comparison on the 3IS is really not going to be useful this early into production. I have yet to see/read/hear about anyone that put TEIN springs and swapped it out for RS*R because they did not like it, or vice versa. Pick one, or pick none, go with Tanabe, or wait for eibach or h&r... It's going to be a gooood while before there is a definative "best" spring make for the 3IS, and even then, it's just an opinion. Good luck with your choice and I hope this topic doesn't flood this section of the forum.

Tein are cheaper and easier to get your hands on, they were one of the top choices for the 2is. In that sense they're "better", but I don't think you could go wrong with either choice.

Edit: I have since installed s-techs and they're a bit soft

I doubt there will be people to switch out from tein springs to RSR springs or vice versa, anyway. If any switch it would be to a coilover/air system, of the same or different companies.

I've been riding on RS*R down springs for a couple weeks now.
Ride quality is similar to stock on an even road. However, driving over rough road
or even small bumps i can definitely feel the roughness in the suspension.
My previous car had been lowered on Eibachs and had a slight better ride quality
when riding on rough roads. I have never tried Teins so i can't comment on them.

To answer this question, I believe we need to know the spring rates.

I see Eibach do make springs for these now. Ive just had a suspension shop confirm they're availability. In fact thinking of getting them installed next week.Apparently theyre "30%" stiffer than standard.1" drop at the front, .75 at the rear

Part of the problem with the ride quality is i think the stock spring rate is perfect. When a spring is shortened for lowering purposes it automatically has to me made stiffer to compensate for the fact that theres now less travel.so it becomes hard to find that balance plushness v's stiffness.
