Default Brake Service

Right now on my 2002 gs300, i have oem rotors and pads, the rear rotors are ok but the front have a lip and are a little warped. I plan on replacing the rear pads with Akebono proact, and the the front pads with the akebono performance and napa premium rotors. They are nearly half the price of the ultra premium rotors, but all the reviews seem to say its not worth it. I'm also replacing the caster arms on both sides, just because i have them and i want to get it done. Does anyone have any advice or input on the rotors? For the price they don't seem to bad and already come painted. Also any adice on what else should be changed, ball joints and upper control arms have already been changed and I'm at 84k miles.

Personally Centric rotors are the only brand rotors I will buy. As far as castor bushing,I went with Poly and I regretted it from day one. Installed properly and greased but have always creaked. I have maybe 50k on them and about to replace with hardened rubber.

For this car, always get the brake hardware kit when doing the brakes (the clips). It should only be about $10 per kit for a 3rd party kit.

I ended up with ABT slotted rotors. I was going for blanks, but i had a discount so i'm taking a chance. What little i could find on them seemed to be generally positive. I am not one to cheap out on parts, but i figured I would test them out to see. I'm still putting on the Akebono performance pads so ill see how this combo works out.

For those who are interested here is a picture of the rotor. Looks good, will be putting them on Monday. Painted the hat and the inner fins with a black high temp paint to prevent rust. I obviously didn't paint where the pad comes in contact with the rotor. For the price I figured why not.

I did use masking tape, but I used a generic kind I had laying around the house. I did it as best I could and the tiny little spots that weren't covered, I used some wd-40 and a rag to round it all out.
