Default master cylinders

is the master cylinder in a ls430 any larger than the one in a 99 gs400 and is it swapable?

are you trying to swap for performance or for repair?

if for performance, a slightly bigger master cylinder won't perform any better.

you'd be better off upgrading via the rubber hoses of the brake lines... the brake lines going from the chassis to the brake calipers. this is where hydrolic pressure causes the rubber to expand under hard braking.

virtually eliminated with SS brake lines.

Why do you say that?

A veteran racer I know said that a larger master cylinder is the way to increase braking performance as dictated by physics.

More pistons, larger rotors, and SS lines are less important.

the differences between the sizes of the LS and GS master cylinders would not be cost and labor effective...

that's what i was getting at...
