Default Getting really bad squealing/chirping when stepping on brakes

Hey guys, I ran into a problem just a few days ago, whenever I step on the brakes lightly i get squealing/chirping, it only does it on the front passenger, I replaced both driver and passenger brake pads, it stopped for a little but started happening again...

I have no idea and its driving me insane!!

It might be just from the brake pad material, depending on what kind they are. If you just replaced them, it's most likely that they are seating in, or it could be the pad itself making noise. I see if quite a bit where I work. You can try taking the pads out and scuffing them up by rubbing them on the ground.

can remove the pads, clean them, reapply anti squeal grease and put them back in

I had warranty on the old pads, so i got em replaced... So its the same material, i thought it would be a hard spot but it wasnt. Could it be the alignment, and wheel balance? Cause it started happening with the new wheels i got.

the alignment and balance will not make noise, unless your new wheels don't fit, and trust me, you would know if that was the case.

Pads are semi-metallic, so most have metal in them, meaning that it could just be part of the pad, or how it is getting applied to the rotor. I'd recommend scuffing them up, or doing some hard braking, that might help.... other than that, I think you might be stuck with noisy brakes, sorry.

Good luck man.

You replaced the pads, but did you replace or resurface the rotors? If not, there is your cause.

I may have found out what the problem is, but i have no idea how to fix it, so i took out the brake pads and spun the rotor and it spun, but it was wobbling. The other side had no brake pads as well and spun without wobbling... how do i fix it?

rotor might be warped. You dont have to resurface the rotors when you change pads but looks like you need to to get rid of this wobble

I would probably just get new rotors, if you can see it wobble, it might also be something else. Its hard to tell without looking at it. But like others have said, either resurface or replace the rotors as a start.

I believe that it actually might be the rotor, so im just gonna go buy new ones LOL. Because with the brake pads on, on some parts i can move it easily then id have to use a little more force to do it.

I have the same problem... changed my front rotors and pads. the noise is crazy. I've applied anti-squeak and also cleaned the shims. not sure what else to do other than replace the shims?

I am having the same issue for the past year. I replaced 2 sets of pads and rotors already but the noise is still there. Any solutions to this?

Replace your brakes and your rotors at the same time, I got mine to stop by doing that. Also use brake quiet.
