Default IS 350 brake upgrade problem

For those that upgraded to the IS 350 calipers, how did you guys solve the grinding problem of the dust shield on the brake rotor? I tried to trim some of it with a snip, but it is still making the grinding noise. Please help, it is so annoying .

Remove more of the shield, remove the entire shield, or get IS350 shields.

There are 4 bolts that hold the hub in. Unplug the wire that the hub is connected to, and remove those bolts to get the hub out. You might need to pry the hub a little bit to get it loose.

I did try that but it's really stuck on there and seems like it require more than just prying it loose.

I just tried to pry it loose with a hammer and flat head but it was no use. But how would I use a impact gun?

So I went back and cut the dust shield some more, making sure it was not touching the rotor but the faint grinding noise was still there. Could this faint grinding noise be coming from a seized caliper? I really don't want to take this problem to the stealership.

I had to go back and bend/cut my shield like 3 times haha.

My dust shield wouldn't come off ... Lol.

From what I can tell, the dust shield is attached to the hub between the knuckle. So in order to remove the shield, you would need to completely remove the hub from the knuckle (4 bolts). That's why I stated if you were using an impact gun or not...but you obviously didn't know how the shield was attached :

Notice the shield has the 4 bolt holes in the same configuration as the hub.

That was the first thing i did when it wouldn't come off after I removed the 4 bolts, but it was futile. I also read somewhere that you need a special tool to carefully remove it and not damage it (not sure if that true or not). Im really stump.

Yeah I saw that diagram when I was ordering parts for the upgrade. It just that the hub wouldn't come off after I took off the four bolts and used penetrating lube.

Ah, so you did remove the four bolts. Did you use a rubber/plastic mallet to beat the hub off?

I sprayed it with penetrating lube and used a hammer with a flat head. I didnt try to pry too hard as i didnt want to damage the hub.
