HELP! Uneven Brake pad wear..
i am experiencing uneven brake pad wear on the left front caliper of my car, the outer pad which is exposed on the rim is approximately 1/2 worn however the inner pad which is on the brake piston side is fully worn almost down to metal. can anyone assist me in resolving this situation, i have recently changed my brake pads and will perform checks this weekend, if the problem still exist.
thanks

When did you last change the brake fluid?

I experienced the same issue when I first bought my IS350 on the front driver side caliper. Inner pad was completely gone, while the outside pad was fine. I've since then swapped out my brake fluid for fresh Toyota fluid. All seems to be good now. Using PoweSlot slotted rotors and StopTech Street pads right now.

When you changed your pads, did you happen to turn down your rotors? What I mean by that is when you turn down your rotors you take them to a machine shop or a brake shop to have the surface completely evened out. Sometimes when you dont turn down the rotors the rotor itself can warp due to high brake temps and then leaving the car sit right after, if the rotor is warped it can def chew up a brake pad extremely quick, sometimes in your situation worse on either side

Turning rotors is almost always a bad idea. If they're that bad, they should be replaced. All you're really doing when you cut a rotor is making a spiral groove in it that kicks the pads back and forces the driver to push harder on the pedal along with removing metal which instantly reduces service life.
Just for S&G I bought a pair of used IS-F rotors from a guy for $50. He had turned them and they were close to the service limit, but still had some meat left on them. The performance was complete junk on install - one side felt almost normal, the other side was completely unpredictable from a braking performance perspective, and it nearly caused an unintended lane change when I had to brake hard once. The bad side failed to slow the car and the car wanted to rotate - I had to immediately and severely countersteer to make the car continue to go straight. I took them off and junked them when I got home that night.
