While applying brakes hard, brake light comes on
My brake light only comes on in the dashboard when I apply my brakes pretty hard. Then it goes off.
I tried to search, but I couldn't find the issue.
I don't have any other lights on the dash on.
It is weird.. I thought maybe a faulty E-brake sensor, but that seems to work perfectly.
So here is the breakdown from my findings.
Brake lightly, looks good.
Brake moderately, light comes on once in awhile.
Brake hard, comes on.
Release brakes, light is off.
Any ideas? ty.

is your brake fluid low? when braking hard the fluid level might dip below the brake fluid level sensor and set it off.. you most likely checked this though. Go and also clean/wiggle the brake fluid level sensor and its pins, maybe it is loose or grimy and unseats when braking hard.

Just as a precautionary measure, I'd check the brake pads. In the cases I've seen, the pads were so worn and thin that the brake system had to take more fluid out of the reservoir and into the lines to keep the pads close to the rotor, resulting in low brake fluid in the reservoir.

I topped off the fluids, past the max level, and the light stopped showing.
It was above the min before, I am sure my pads are low.
SOLUTION:
Change Brake Pads, and Add more fluid!
Thank you for all the concern and follow-ups. This forum is much better than others.
