My stock shocks were leaking so went for the Tokicos assuming they were very close to stock.

Been driving stock shocks+springs for 2 years so yeah definitely takes adjusting..

That's one of the problems with progressive springs, and why people sometimes describe the F-sport setup as "floaty" or rough on harsh roads, it's impossible for the shocks to be "perfect" for both the softest initial rate AND the firmest progressive rate.

That's one of the many reasons linear springs (as used in the sport package suspension, and most coilovers) will provide superior handling.
Which linear springs do most people get for the IS?

Most lowering springs in the market are progressive. Just a few are liner rated. Tein H-Tech and Tanabe NF are linear.
