Loose caliper?
Corrosion behind your brake disk?
Tire/wheel imbalance?

What torque settings on your wheel lugnuts?

What exactly did you change on your brakes?

Does the vibration go away when you apply the brake?

Have you swapped front wheels L to R to rule out the wheel for sure? At 80mph it's hard to say one wheel or the other...

You could post create a thread in the Second Generation asking this questin or, ask the Administartor to move the thread over to it.

As per the vibration, wheel bearings could be wearing out since you have 80,XX and on average it does last about this long. If this is the case, then the wheel hub assembly would need to be replaced.

No, it's in the right spot and he's also created three threads on the same topic which I have now merged. No more please OP.

vibration has nothing to do with brakes i swapped out my rotors and pads made no differene and its definently the left front

cant swap out the wheels cause the tires are directional

I suspect the wheel bearings are worn out in my earlier post. The wheel hub assembly needs to be replaced if this is the case.

Sure you can, I wouldn't drive around for a whole day that way, but it will rule out the cheap and easy bits.

A long time ago I had a similar issue, did all of the troubleshooting, etc.
Ended up finally swapping tires L to R (not wheels) and it solved the problem. One wheel just took an extraordinary amount of weight to balance, and the problem never showed up on the shop's balancer (spin balancer, but probably with an inexperienced tech).

Not to send you on a wild goose chase, as it will most likely be a bearing at this point.

Check out this link:

The Miata guys really know a few things tires. I suppose when you have <150hp, you need all the help you can get.

carbonlexi,

I'm not sure if the bearings are sealed. If they are sealed, there is no way of knowing without opening it and once you do, there is no way to reseal it therefore you would have to replace it. If it's not sealed then take the bearing out and look at ball bearing inside.

I recall for my 99 Toyota Solara, I brakes/rotors kept warping and always had a constant vibration (at moving and braking) for a long time. The was at about started probably when the car was about 120K and wasn't found out until 160K. The tech kept replacing brakes/rotors, but never mentioned anything about the bearing or hub assembly, insisting they were ok, even thou they did change the bearings for the ones which were not sealed.

I was suspecting it for sometime but the tech still said it was not. After doing some research about the assembly, I read they last on average about 80K, so I decided to just buy the hub assembly for all four wheels. Once I had them changed, it all went away!! The tech showed me the bearings of the original ones... They were literally unrecognizable as if it were disintegrated since they were used way past their life span.

Looking back, I felt my money was wasted because the tech failed to mention the hub assembly as a factor which was the real underlying factor while I kept replacing the rotor/brake pads for warp and vibration.
