In last or 2 month's Car and Driver they tested a few brake upgrade kits and surprisingly the Stop Techs performed as well as the Brembos. Of course that was on a WRX, but it should also be noted that the Stop Tech Kit is used by Peter Farrell Supercars who built a Turbo IS300. The PFS IS failed miserably in the 150MPH shootout, but the brakes got rated pretty highly. Only thing I noticed was that once I started getting pricing comparos, the Brembos are pretty close in price so why not go with on of the proven leaders...IMHO anyway.
Isn't Stoptech the company that does MMC (Metal Matrix Composite) rotors for some applications (super-duper cars: Ferraris, Porches, etc.)? Sport Compact Car did a write up on those brakes on an RX7 (awesome) a couple of years ago, but it nothing subsequent came. MMC rotors are significantly lighter than regular rotors and dissipate heat much better. Does anyone know of applications for GS?
I went to the stop-tech website and downloaded the the template for the GS400 brake upgrade. I verified the dimension and then glued the template to a manilla folder, cut-out the template and checked it on my spare 17" stock rim. It looks like it just barely fits. Anyone care to verify my findings? Here't the link:

You should have a 1/4" clearance...6mm~7mm or more...if you had 2mm clearance, I would just add a H&R 5mm Spacer (high quality spacer...won't mess anything up...don't worry) to get the extra gap...good to see that it does fit though...
