Default Removing dead weight?

I think any speed enthusiasts should know that stripping weight makes a greater difference than just adding more power. Plus, there's only so much you can bolt on to add a few extra horses, but what about the dead weight that can be removed from the car?

1. Spare tire
2. rubber carpets
3. jacks

Is there anymore?
As you can see in my sig, I have the slowest IS in the line of IS's, so I want to add what HP I can from bolt ons, and take away as much weight as I can to make the biggest difference, hopefully one I can feel, however minuscule it may be.

Thanks,

Matt

Removing passenger and back seats, and go around with less than 1/4 of gas.

wear thinner clothes and eat smaller meals. you'll save some weight there.

remove AC
replace windows with nets
remove CD and audio system so you can listen to the engine
remove rear bumper (who plans on getting hit from behind when you should be faster than everyone on the road )

Not only removing, but reducing weight such as wheels, brakes, hood, exhaust, etc.

Right, install a battery ejection system that ejects the battery once the car is moving, you only need it when you're stopped anyways

the best suggestion on here is to get lighter wheels and exhaust. also the back seats..the back seats barely fit anything anyway.

LMAO @ all of the above responses. Reducing weight on an IS is pretty much pointless, they're tanks to begin with.

But lighter wheels, lighter battery, even a full alum cat back exhaust would all help. But even when you do all of this man, you're barely going to shave off 2 1/10ths in the 1/4 mile and you've given up multiple creature comforts. Do you really want to be under the hood of your 2009 IS250 when your mini battery cant handle a cold winter night? It's not worth it. If you want your car to be faster, sell it, and buy a 06/07 is350 for the same price. That's gonna cost you just about nothing and you'll gain 100 hp

how serious are you about 'racing' your 2IS? this will determine how much int. you pull out... you really wanna lose weight? strip everything and fab a custom dash just for the autometer gauges... get cf doors/fenders/roof/floorboard/trunk/rear quater panels or hell just fiberglass... replace your frame with lighter metals... as i said, how serious are you...

if you're really serious you wouldn't even try with a 2IS... buy a FOX mustang for 1/4mi or a miata for autoX...
