Default Are spacers bad for your car?

I have a 2007 is250 that I had a widebody kit installed on a little while ago. I already have premium wheels, although they’re not that expensive I didn’t necessarily want to get a new set of wheels I was instead just going to put spacers on to fill the wheel gap. I was wondering if anyone else has done this before? If so what size did you use or if you’d recommend it at all, I’ve heard some people say spacers are bad for your suspension and handling but I’m not too concerned with handling I’m not going on any more canyon runs in this car.
(also if anyone who has installed spacers on their is before could recommend me a brand that would be extremely helpful)

motorsport-tech.com is in Nevada and is where I got mine, if you search for wheel spacers on this site you will find all kind of opinions on the subject.

H&R wheel spacers are a popular brand, follow the install instructions very closely.

In theory, yes, in practice, no.

Thank you I needed this 🙌🏼 I’ve been trying to just figure out which brands people consider more reliable or more reputable with so many out there it’s hard to tell just based off price.

There is more to spacers than keeping the wheel on the car. As a rule of thumb the more you space, the greater the load on the wheel bearing. In addition and although you are not concerned with handling, the ideal world has the tires contact patch centered under the ball joints. As you space the wheel out, this makes a great deal more scrub during turning. That said, many who apply custom wheels, also tend to know tires are wear items and may get replaced more as we modify the car.

Here are a couple articles.

Scrub schmub, tracking/drifting/burnouts/street racing and no mercy reversy all are just as bad or worse for tires and wheel bearings and suspension components.
