Default Why are spacers disliked?

I was thinking of putting some on soon and got feedback from someone saying that it makes your car shake at higher speeds or something? Anyways, can someone confirm this and what are some of the other reasons why spacers are disliked? Thanks.

I couldn't tell you why they are disliked, but i can tell you to get good quality spacers like ICHIBA or H&R.

Buy name brand and get them hubcentric, it'll eliminate more chances of vibrations.

Ichiba is not high quality just readily available and easy to find !

H&R , Eibach and KICS are high quality the rest i would never let touch my car .
no one wants to have a bolt snap and the wheel roll down the road while the car grinds to a stop .

I've had Ichiba V2 spacers from Nigel almost a year ago with no issues. Make sure you get the proper hubcentric ring size and a proper alignment afterwords.

And to answer your question, many believe that you should buy wheels that properly fit your car, instead of making the car fit around your wheels.

Thanks a lot for all your input so far. Reason is to space out my rims bc the offsets are 19x8.5 +28 front and 10 +43 rear dropped on Megan coils, so its nice and tucked with no fender work but i like the look of having the rims stick out (more baller look imo). But then il need to do fender work and buy spacers so I'm kind of stuck in which route to go.

They are fine as far as fine-tuning wheel fitments and clearing big brake kits. The upper echelon of motorsports use them i.e. World Challenge Porsche Cup Cars and Formula Drift cars as well

However, many times the spacer seizes on there and can be a pita to remove. Worst, the hubcentric can be almost impossible to take off and would require heat and a sliding hammer:

Just be sure to apply anti-seize on them =)

Oh so very true. That is exactly how my rotors looked when I changed them a few weeks back after I got the spacers off.

Other then that I have no issues at all with my spacers.

I didnt have any problems on the ichiba and h&r. They both slip through like butter. Didnt have any problems taking them off either.

I don't think so really. The pics Jerry posted are out in Cali so kinda unlikely road salt was a factor.
