Default GS 300 OEM Suspension Installed on GS 400

A couple of months ago I installed an 04 GS300 OEM suspension to my 00 GS400. I was told by the previous owner that the suspension had less than 6K. They actually look new, no leaks, and very clean. But recently I realized that the front is higher by about half an inch compared to the rear. This is true for both driver and passenger sides. Do you think the rear suspension is defective or it’s just that they have different valving/dampening since GS300 engine (cast iron block) may be heavier than the GS400 engine (aluminum block)? I haven't experienced any problems on the ride except the natural "float" with an OEM setup. (I replaced an L-tuned suspension set up)

The 2jz is lighter than the 1uz, and the front is naturally slightly higher than the rear.

The only variation you might be experiencing is the mid year model revision that were implimented around 2001 model year (98-00, 05). I can't speak to the ride height but if you'd like a set of low milage 2003 Sport Design springs I have, free, that "might" help the cause.

That's a good estimate that I'm having a tough time believing, except it does throw off the weight distribution by less than 1%. The weight difference is only 55 pounds.

Thanks for the insight and the offer. I still kept the original springs and maybe will use those instead when I recognize any changes or degradation on the handling.

not that it truthfully matters that much but he said the 1uz or the GS400 which has a 4.0 L 1UZ-FE V8 (UZS160)

the GS430 you quoted has the 4.3 L 3UZ-FE V8 (UZS160)

and although they essentially the same motor he did specifically ask about the 1z which weighs in at 3693

PLUS they comparing the motor weight itself not the cars weight

Exactly Brian got it correct. Motors themselves are lighter from the xUZ-FE series since the block is aluminum whereas the 2jz uses a steel block.

But how come the GS300 is lighter if the 2JZ engine is heavier?

maybe less features....

also we dont know if for those weights, they weighed a gs300/gs400/gs430 that had the nav in it or not

OR

what rim configuration they weighed them in... the stock 16's on both or the extra featured 17's on both or the 16's on one and the 17's on the other or if it had the heavy *** chromes

not to mention did it have all the available accessories added to it? the wing and all the other ones you could add
this is just my guess.

Good point.

I know the cooling system has a bigger capacity on the 400, which would make it heavier.
