Default Lowered (Eibach) bottoming out over bumps

Hey guys, I just put in Eibach Pro kit (1") and KYB GR2's.

I only drove it a few miles and over small bumps in the road something is hitting or bumping into something.

I have 245/45/18 that rub on the inside plastic during sharp turns but they never over bumps.

Do the springs need to settle?
Or are the shocks bottoming out?

It's kind of a squeaky noise when it hits.
I hope its just the plastic.

What do you guys think?

Oh, and no alignment yet.

Get an alignment, you'll probably be fine. Make sure to have them check the lower ball joints.

are the springs seated properly?? theres a groove on the shocks where the springs sits on the perch properly. if they just slapped it on without properly aligning it to the perch it might cause a squeak.

Hmmmm. Not sure. The mechanic that put them on showed me how the struts sit on the springs and they looked like they lined up good.

I didn't pay attention to the grove on the shock though.

if you jack up the car a bit and take a peek under youll see the end of the spring, it should sit against the elevated part of the shock. if its somewhere between or not near the end part of it that might be the cause.

i borrowed the pic off another diy, but you see the end of the spring? that small elevated part it rest on? (bottom left side)

I don't think he cut them. How common is it to cut them after springs are installed?

from those pics it looks like the springs are seated properly. just make sure all 4 are in the same position. if all else fails bring it back to the shop and explain the problem that you encountered a noise after the install.

The rubber insert on each shock hat has to fall into a particular place in the hat. If not, the spring can be seated funny which will cause squeeks or uneven installed spring height.

Well after two days the springs seemed to have settled a little bit.
I don't get the noise as much. Hopefully it get a lot better though with more time.

I did find on a Google search that Eibach spring coils sometimes need to be wrapped in rubber if they are bumping into each other.

If this sound persists I'm gonna def look into that more.

Thanks guys

The rear coils on my Tanabe NF210's for my Lexus had rubber sleeves on them. I have Eibach Pro-Kits on my Prelude and those dont. Each application will be different.
