Default Front brake pad placement question.

I was browsing through a is300 forum and noticed someone who made a DIY for their front brake pad looks a bit different from when I did mine on our 2nd gens. The procedure is the same but the placement of the inner pad is different. I just wanted to see is my brake pads are placed on wrong since all the DIY write ups for our 2nd gens dont specify which direction it is suppose to be placed. The part circled in Yellow, is that suppose to be positioned towards the upper part of the caliper (near the brake line)? or towards the bottom part of the caliper (towards the floor)? In the write up they have that piece facing Downwards (towards the floor). curiosity question! and would this be a safety issue since IF it is not placed on right? Thanks.

thats just a sensor to make the squeling noise to let you know when to change your pads doesn't matter what side it on.
