Default alignment

I am going to replace the stock 17" rims with 18" ones and I was wondering once I put in lowering springs and shocks and get an aligment done, do I have to get an aligment if I put on the 17" rims on again for say winter? Or if I decide to get 19" rims do I have to do the same? Thanks.

you would only need the alignment if you lower the body of the car. Wheels may raise or lower the car from the axle points.... no change to camber.... correct me if i'm wrong....... any one else have any thoughts?

Yup, you only need alignment down when lowering or lifting the car.

hmm what if the overall diameter of the new wheels you get is slightly bigger than stock?

I have the stock 17s with 245/45/17. When I lowered it, I got an alignment. Now I'm getting 20's with 245/35/20. The overall diameter of the wheel is a bit bigger. Should I get an alignment?

thanks.

If I were switching rims, I'd get the alignment done every time to make sure the ride's smooth and tires wear evenly.
